7. Philip J.³ Clipfell (Jacob², Philip¹) was born in Alsace, France May 12, 1821. Philip died December 25, 1895 at 74 years of age.

He married Mary Desdemona Wilcox in MI, October 12, 1843. Mary was born May 5, 1826. Mary was the daughter of Newcomb Wilcox and Miranda Stearns. Mary died April 19, 1910 in MI, at 83 years of age. Conflicting evidence states that she died May 10, 1910.

Philip J. Clipfell and Mary Desdemona Wilcox had the following children:

13 i. Evelon P.⁴ Clipfell was born in Leonidas Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI July 22, 1844. Evelon died 1862 at 17 years of age.

14 ii. Marretta E. Clipfell was born in Leonidas Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI December 6, 1846. Marretta died September 7, 1850 at 3 years of age.

+ 15 iii. Frances C. Clipfell was born February 2, 1850.

16 iv. Clark N. Clipfell was born in Leonidas Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI June 21, 1855. Clark died August 26, 1858 at 3 years of age.

+ 17 v. Loring W. Clipfell was born October 14, 1859.
