In the 1950s, the Nevada County Extension Homemakers began the project of compiling cemetery records. Some were updated or added in 1970. In the 1970s, CETA workers indexed the records so they could become more useful.In 1995, Betsy Mills (betsym@stargate.1starnet.com) of Paris, Texas entered the records into a computer database. Betsy has printed a book of the records, and the books are available at the Depot Museum or directly from Betsy (for $25.00) (cheap).
In 1996, Danny Stewart ( dstewart@wolfden.swsc.k12.ar.us)wrote a computer program to access those records quickly. The program is at the Depot Museum [and on the web] and can give you just the name(s) you want. Several persons have expressed an interest in updating these records. If you would like to work with the project, contact the Depot Museum.
